How to Apply AgilePoint License Keys and Activate the AgilePoint Licensed Components

The following components of the AgilePoint BPMS suite require activation to enable all the features:
- AgilePoint Server
- AgilePoint Envision
- AgilePoint Developer
For AgilePoint Server, you will be prompted for activation the first time you open the AgilePoint Server Configuration utility (via Start > All Programs > Ascentn > AgilePoint Server Configuration).
For AgilePoint Envision, you will be prompted for activation the first time you open AgilePoint Envision.
For AgilePoint Developer, you will be prompted the first time you open Microsoft Visual Studio .NET after the installation.
Temporary/Evaluation License Keys When using Temporary/Evaluation License Keys for evaluating AgilePoint or for development/testing/demonstration environments, if your Temporary License Key has expired, you will need to request an extension by sending an email to support@ascentn.com. Once you have received the new license keys, simply re-activate using the method above.
Permanent/Production License Keys Once the AgilePoint purchase has been made, you will be given the necessary Production License Keys (i.e. serial numbers) to activate the above components and will be prompted to type in the license key corresponding to the component during installation. The AgilePoint Installation Guide also provides instructions for how to do this.
To Replace Temporary/Evaluation License Keys with Permanent/Production License Keys In a case where you need to replace existing Temporary/Evaluation Keys with Permanent/Production License Keys and your Temporary/Evaluation License Keys have not yet expired, you will need to send an email to support@ascentn.com requesting instructions and a download package that causes your Temporary/Evaluation Keys to expire allowing you to enter the new Permanent/Production Keys. NOTE: Activation works the same whether for evaluation or production.
You will be guided through the activation process using the AgilePoint Activation Wizard for each licensed component of the AgilePoint BPMS Suite. When you first open AgilePoint Server Configuration, AgilePoint Envision, or AgilePoint Developer, the AgilePoint Activation Wizard will be displayed so that you can activate your product.

The AgilePoint Activation Wizard provides two alternatives for activating the product: Activate by using Internet and Activate Manually.
Activate by using Internet
Internet Activation is the recommended activation method because it is faster and easier than manual activation. Using Internet Activation will allow you to activate the product immediately by sending the License Key directly to the Ascentn Corporation Activation Server via the internet. Using Internet Activation requires an internet connection that will allow the AgilePoint Activation Wizard on your computer to access Ascentn Corporation’s Activation Server. If your computer does not have an internet connection, you will need to use the Manual Activation process instead.
Activate Manually
Manual Activation should only be used when Internet Activation cannot be used (e.g., if your computer does not have an internet connection). Using Manual Activation will allow you to generate a Product ID that can be emailed to the Ascentn Corporation Customer Support team. The Customer Support team will then send you an Activation Password that you can use to complete the activation process.

To activate your product, select either the “Activate by using Internet” or “Activate manually” option, then click Next.
- If you chose the “Activate by using Internet” option, your product should be activated automatically within a few seconds and you can skip Step 2. - If you chose the “Activate manually” option, the window below appears. Proceed to Step 2.

- If you have an internet connection available, you can obtain an Activation Key using the following link:
http://act.ascentn.com/ActivationServer/ActivationKey.aspx If you are able to obtain an Activation Key using the link above, proceed directly to step 5 below.
- If you do not have an internet connection available, email your name, company, contact information, and the displayed Product ID to the Ascentn Corporation Customer Support team at support@ascentn.com.
Note: It is recommended that you copy & paste the Product ID into the email to avoid any typing errors.

Wait for an email reply from the Ascentn Corporation Customer Support team. This email will contain an Activation Key (specific to your computer) that will allow you to continue with the manual activation.

Enter the Activation Key you received into the Activation Key text box.

Click Next to complete the activation process. |
